about

"Things to Do When You Should Be Dead Anyway" is the 2004 debut full-length from Northern Virginia's FORENSICS. After the demise of Pageninetynine, Corn on Macabre, Trial By Fire, and Burning Airlines in close succession, friends George Crum, Brent Eyestone, Wookie Yancey, and Mike Harbin started something new a sonic vein none of them had explored prior. They ended up penning numerous heavy hardcore/metal pieces during a bow wave where the band and others in their immediate creative community began working ambient and far more dynamic elements into the genre(s), inspired greatly by works by artists such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Mogwai at the time.

Forensics would subsequently tour for over a third of 2004 around North America, starting with a leg that brought along friends The Holy Mountain and Textbook Traitors and closing out the year with an extensive run with Baroness. They were named one of Alternative Press's "50 Bands You Need To Know" and songs from the album ended up being featured in various video games, skate videos, and across film and television over the years.
